RECREATIONAL COACHES MEETING



1. Welcome and Introductions – Ethan Rayburn, President ([email protected])

2. Coaching Information – Kyle Baker, Director of Coaching & Player Development ([email protected])
 Contact parents as soon as you get your roster, practice schedule and game schedule. A phone call initially is best.
 Explanation of pods (U6, U8).
 Inform parents by Friday Evening which fields their child will be playing on for games each Saturday.
 Coaches can only be on the field for KiddieKicks and U6, otherwise stay on the sideline.
 Grassroots licensing.
 Heading allowed for U15 only.
 Coach safe play - no slide tackling.
 MOJO app – training philosophy.
 Sideline behavior expectations of coaches.
 Hold a parent meeting and set the tone – communicate your philosophy, player expectations and parent expectations.
 Do NOT reschedule games. If you must miss a game, let your age group commissioner know so they can find a replacement

3. Emergency Procedures/Risk Management – Chris Lozier ([email protected])
 What to do in the case of an emergency.
 If practice is cancelled or a lightning delay what to do if parents aren’t at thecomplex to get their child. NEVER be alone with a child without another adult present.
 CPR training.
 Every adult over the age of 18 that works with the children are required by law to complete a background check, safe sport training and concussion training. Melissa will contact you with instructions.
 Every coach, assistant coach and team manger must complete the required trainings prior to the 1 st practice. If you add on an assistant coach, let Melissa know.
 Lightning Policy - All training will be suspended immediately when lightning is detected within 10 miles. All players and coaches should retreat to cars. Wait for 30 minutes after the last lightning strike in the 10-mile zone.
 Cold Policy - Wind chill under 32 degrees - Consider postponing training or matches to a time when the wind chill is higher, especially for younger players. Wind chill under 10 degrees no outdoor workouts
 Heat Policy - Heat index of less than 100 degrees - No restrictions Heat index of 100-104 degrees - Workouts should be shortened. 5 minute water breaks every 15 minutes at the minimum Heat index of 104+ degrees - No outdoor workouts

4. Referee Assignor – Danna Andreas ([email protected])
 Referees for U10 and up only if there are enough.
 Complaints are to be brought to Danna, not the refs. There will be a zero-
tolerance policy when yelling at a ref. Issues need to be discussed calmly and
brought to Danna’s attention and she will handle it with assistance from Kyle. 
 Danna’s number is 243-1123.

5. Fields – Courtney Hubbard ([email protected])
 Fields closed until 4/3/23.
 Fields 43 and 50 are closed until the week of April 24 th .
 Do not move goals.
 Prevent repetitive activities in the same spot of turf all the time as it wears the grass down.
 Coaches make sure goals are anchored before every practice and every game – do not allow anyone to hang from the goals.
 Don’t let kids dig into the ground and pull at the grass (to the best of your ability).

 Each coach will pick up an equipment bag that will include balls, cones, and pinnies.
 Equipment bags can be picked up immediately following the coaches meeting.

Other dates for pick-up are:
- Saturday, March 18 th 11:00a-12:30p
- Wednesday, March 22 nd 5:00p-6:15p
- Monday, March 27 th 5:30p-6:45p

7. Stack Team App – Ethan
 We are requiring every coach to use StackTeamApp. Official club wide app.
 Coaches and parents will receive up to date weather issues, cancellations, field changes, news, etc. You can opt to receive a notification and/or an email.
 Melissa will set you up in the app along with your team, players, and their parents.
 The practice schedule can be found under “rec schedule”.
 Game schedules will be listed on “schedule”.

MPORTANT INFORMATION AND DATES - Ethan:
 Season starts Saturday, April 8 th for U6-U15 and 4/8-4/13 for KiddieKicks (depending on your session day).
 Pick up uniforms for your players on Friday, April 7 th 5p-6p at the clubhouse, or on the 1st day of games.
 We will have a double-header on May 20 th to avoid playing Memorial Day Weekend.

(KiddieKicks excluded). Games will be at 10, 11:30 and 1 and again at 2:30, 4 and 5:30.
 Melissa will email rosters, practice schedule along with field assignments, and game schedules to you within 1 week. Once that’s completed StackTeamApp will be set up.
 You will share a field with another team for practices/training sessions.
 Picture day is Saturday, April 15 th for U6-U15. KiddieKicks pictures will be taken during your session 4/15-4/20. (Your time will be included in your uniform bag)

NEW THIS SEASON: We are going back to the dri-fit jersey’s, with each team in an age group
having a different color.
