2019-20 Travel Evaluation/Tryout Registration - Terre Haute Premier

Please read all of the information in this email. If you will be a high school student in the fall, and are attending the Rose-Hulman camp with your high school team this summer, you DO NOT need to attend tryouts BUT you DO NEED TO REGISTER for tryouts; otherwise you will not be evaluated at the camp.  DO NOT go to our website to register as you have in the past. 

All players will be required to register using this link for the 2019-20 Travel Team Evaluations/Tryouts (even if you are attending the Rose-Hulman camp in June).

Fees: Fees are changing for the upcoming season due to fees being raised by Indiana Soccer and Got Soccer.  Fees are NOT changing due to the recent partnership with Indy Premier.

Academy 9U -10U                                                 $300/year (includes Fall and Spring seasons)

11U -12U                                                               $500/year (includes Fall and Spring seasons)

13U-14U-15U (non high school players)               $560/year (includes Fall and Spring seasons)

15U-19U (high school players)                              $325/season (includes only the Spring season)


·         Parents/Players must register for travel tryouts by clicking on this link:

·         Select the '2019-20 Travel Tryout Registration' for each Player to register for evaluations/tryouts (there is no cost to register for Travel Evaluations/Tryouts)

·         When registering, please specify all required information, including acknowledging the Waiver of liability and specifying birth year from the list e.g., 2011...2001.


·         NOTE: Players attending the Rose-Hulman camp in June do not need to attend evaluations/tryouts at the Springhill complex.

·         Check in will be open 30 minutes prior to evaluations

·         Please bring water, ball, shin guards, and appropriate footwear for evaluations

·         All candidates will be issues an ID number for the session

·         All high school players (15U-19U) will be considered with the understanding of VCYSA complying with the IHSAA ‘six player rule’. If the player does not play soccer for their high school this should be noted on their registration

·         Players will be evaluated during the session by a select group of professional coaches. In addition, the club will use coach, trainer and Director of Coaching (DOC) input that is ongoing as they have watched the player over the course of the year.

·         Players will be evaluated on their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological abilities in the game. In addition, other criteria may be used in the evaluation, including past commitment and attendance levels.

·         There are many aspects of player placement on teams. The thought process involved in whether a player should ‘play up’ often includes many factors, including whether or not the next team up has space to add a player, and if moving the player up impacts the ability to form teams at the player’s own age group. Also to be considered, is the player to be one of the top players on a team and the benefits that brings as opposed to being a young player on an older team and struggling for playing time.

·         In placing players, our goal is to place each player in a developmentally appropriate situation that fits the club, teams and the individual player.

·         If you would like your child to ‘play up’ an age group, please notify the DOC, Kyle Baker at [email protected] prior to tryouts.

·         If you are unable to attend the tryouts, simply register and notify the DOC and/or registrar Melissa Brown at [email protected] of your inability to attend. If a supplementary tryout is needed, the DOC will set that up with the player.


Indy Premier:  2005 and older players that are interested in being evaluated for an Indy Premier Elite team should contact the DOC, Kyle Baker, at [email protected].

Notification Process: All Girls 9U-19U and Boys 9U-15U will be contacted by Sunday, June 16th.  HS Boys 15U-19U will be contacted by Sunday, July 7th.  Notifications may be staggered to allow for team adjustments as responses are received.  Players that have not received a notification may contact the DOC.

Commitment: Any invited player has seventy-two (72) hours from notification to accept or decline the roster invitation via an email (or phone) response to the invitation. In addition, a link will be included in the email to login to the players GotSoccer account to complete the registration. A minimum payment of $100 is required to hold the players spot on the roster*. A full payment option will also be available. All 9U-14U players who accept roster invitations are committing to participate on a Premier team for one year (fall 2019/spring 2020). All 15U-19U players accepting an invitation are committing to participate in the spring of 2020; however, training and games may start as early as November 2019.

Refund Policy: If a player accepts a position but later decides to resign from the club, the player/family will be responsible for all fees and charges payable to the date of registration.  Please visit our website at and go to resources, then refund policy, for clearly defined circumstances.   

Uniforms: We are now entering into the 2nd year of our 2-year uniform cycle.  Players that played during the 2018-19 travel season will not need to purchase a new uniform for the 2019-20 season.  If you are new to travel, you will be required to purchase a uniform and information will be sent to you this summer.  If anyone needs to order new uniform pieces for their players, please contact either the boys travel commissioner, Jon Ford, at [email protected] or the girls travel commissioner, John Pommier, at [email protected].  

Financial Aid Policy: Financial assistance for club fees is available on a need basis annually.  Terre Haute Premier will strongly consider any application that contains proof of the family’s qualification for free/reduced school lunch through the player’s school system.
