COVID-19 Return to Play Plan

Vigo County Youth Soccer Association COVID-19 Return to Play Plan

Vigo County Youth Soccer Association (VCYSA) is concerned for the health, safety, and welfare of its players, families, and coaches, and therefore asks YOU, and all participants and spectators to cooperate with the below plan regarding hygiene as we return to play during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The science continues to evolve, and this Plan may change as prudent to continue following the best epidemiological and medical advice available.

Players, Coaches, Parents, and Spectators All players, coaches, parents, guardians, team administrators, club administrators, and spectators (collectively “Participants”) are expected to follow the policies in this Plan.

Concerns about this Plan or the health, safety, or welfare of any player, coach, or family, you should notify their coach, or any club administrator.

General:

The club strongly recommends socially distant (minimum 6+ feet away) from all participants who do not live in the same house.

Avoid physical contact with other individuals, such as shaking hands, high fives, and hugs.

We ask that teams do not share snacks or water bottles.

Wash hands for at least 20 seconds, or thoroughly sanitize hands with 70%+ alcohol, before, during, and after any participation.

Stay home if you or the player feel sick or have felt sick in the past 3 days.

Players:

No celebrations that include physical contact other individuals, such as shaking hands, high fives, and hugs.

No spitting at the complex.

Do not share water bottles with other players.

Wash hands for at least 20 seconds, or thoroughly sanitize hands with 70%+ alcohol, before, during, and after any participation. 

Players should wear mask when walking to the fields.

Players should wear mask when walking to their car after training or games.

Bring your own hand sanitizer.

Practice social distancing when not in play.

Place soccer bags 6 feet apart. 

Parents & Guardians: 

Wash hands for at least 20 seconds, or thoroughly sanitize hands with 70%+ alcohol, before, during, and after any participation.

Provide your child with a mask, hand sanitizer, and their own water bottle.

Educate your child on the following:

  • No spitting
  • No high fives
  • Social distancing while walking to the practice area and back to their car
  • Place their soccer bag 6 feet apart

Parents should drop kids off and stay in their car if possible, during training sessions.  If you need to take your player out to the coach, please return to your car after doing so.

Do not arrive to training more than 5-10 minutes before the scheduled training.

Promptly pickup your players at the scheduled end of training and leave the facility.

 The Club:

 Provide hand sanitizer, or soap for hand washing.

Frequently perform enhanced environmental cleaning of high touch surfaces, and regularly clean all surfaces.

Establish a schedule to allow adequate space for social distancing of all participants.

The concession stand will not be open this fall. Please plan ahead to have an adequate amount of water.  We will have “The Fried Pie Guys” food truck at the complex during game days and Kona Ice.
